I did Coney Island and the new Luna Park with the kids this week — other than a fluke-y visual incident I had happen (more on that maybe never), we had a great time! Luna Park is the amusement area right across the street from the entrance to the Cyclone. Rides are slick and impressive, but there’s not much for younger kids (although a couple of rides seem to be in the works). So don’t forget to stop by the old-school, been-there-forever rides area right on the Boardwalk, a little closer to Nathan’s and Stillwell Avenue. They’re less, um, shiny and bright, but they’ll delight little ones anyway.
While we’re talking Coney Island, and since it’s July 4th weekend, don’t forget:
Friday Night Fireworks on the Boardwalk.
Nathan’s Famous Annual Hot Dog Eating Contest (eeewww!)
